Single Essential Oils
Suggested Essential Oils Guidelines
AROMA LAMPS 6 –15 drops
BATHS(1) 6 –15 drops
BODY 15- 20 drops per 2 oz. of carrier oils.
CLEANSING MASKS 4 – 6 drops (see specific formulas)
COMPRESSES Up to 10 drops per 2 pints of water(hot or cold)
HAIR CARE 6 – 10 drops to shampoo
HAIR RINSE 10 drops to 2 pints of water
HEALING OILS 60 drops per 2 oz.carrier oil or salves for wounds,skin
inflammation, acne and rashes.
HUMIDIFIERS 1 – 9 drops
INHALATION(2) 5 – 8 drops per 2 pints of water
LIGHT BULBS 1 – 2 drops. Apply on cool bulb.
MASSAGE 10 – 12 drops per oz. of carrier oils or creams
ROOM SPRAY 4 – 6 drops to 1 cup of water.
SAUNA 2 drops per 2 ½ cups of water.Use only Eucalyptus, Tea tree oil or
Pine.
TISSUE OR HANDKERCHIEF 1 drop
1.Baths should be run (not too hot) and then essential oils added. If used undiluted, then mix essential oils into water by hand.
2. Water should be heated (approx. 2 pints) then pot removed from heat. Let stand 1 minute before adding essential oils.
* Carrier Oil Definition – any pure vegetable oil, almond, apricot kernel, grapeseed etc.
A Word about Hydrosols
Hydrosols is a form of distilling essential oils. Hydrosols is
a gentler form of direct essentials oil and should be used as a
compress or soaked in a cloth and applied to the skin.
Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol is a refreshing rosewater. It’s pure
product is great for skin toning, tightening and calms the
emotions and elevates your mood.
The fragrance leaves you with an extra step in your pace.
Lavender Hydrosol is very relaxing and calms the body.
It helps with skin rashes, sunburns, bug bites, and dry skin.

BASIL - Helpful for sinus congestion, migraines, and allergies. Use: Diffuser, Inhalation or massage.
BERGAMOT-For calming, anxiety, depression and tension. Use: Diffusor, Inhalation
CARROT SEED-Excellent for skin care, particularly mature skin Use: 6-12 drops to skin care product
CEDARWOOD-Warming, comforting. Use: Diffuser, Inhalant, Eases Congestion.
CHAMOMILE, Roman-Calming, can ease depression and anxiety, assist with sleep.Anti- Inflammatory, Respiratory. Use: Diffuser, Bath, Massage
CITRONELLA- Use in insect repellents. Effective against ants, fleas, mosquitos. Use: Spray or animal shampoo or diffuse outdoors.
CLARY SAGE -Anti-depressant, Relieves Headaches, Tension, Digestion.Use: in compresses on stomach, diffuser, bath
CLOVE-For sore muscles and joints.Use: Massage
CYPRESS-Astringent, Anti-bacterial, soothing.Use: Massage, diffuser
EUCALYPTUS-For sore throats, sinus congestion, headaches, ear aches, Arthritis, Sore Muscles Use: Massage, Bath, Diffuser, Inhalant
FENNEL-For coughs, lymph drainage, cellulite reduction.Use: Massage, Bath
FRANKINCENSE-For skin problems (i.e. wrinkles, blemishes etc.) Antiseptic, purifying, balancing of emotions (mentioned 22 times in bible!)Use: Facial, Massage, Bath
GERANIUM -For menopause and PMS. Anti depressant, nervous tensions. Refreshing and Uplifting. Fine addition skin and hair products.Use: Massage, Room spray, Bath, Diffuser
GINGER-soothing to stomach, warming, for swollen joints, and tissue. Morning sickness.Use: on tissue to inhale, massage or affected area. 1 –2 drops in tea for nausea.
GRAPEFRUIT-Helpful with migraines, PMS, helps with weight loss, clearing of mind.Use: Diffuser, massage, or sniff directly from bottle to curb appetite.
JUNIPERBERRY-Diuretic, good for detoxing or weight loss. Nerve tonic, ease sore muscles.*Contra-Indicated if there are Kidney problems* Use: Bath, Massage, Diffuser, or sniff directly from bottle to curb appetite.
LAVENDER-This is one essential oil that can be applied “neat” (straight) without dilution and is good for so many things. Inflammation, Burns, Insect Bites, Headache, Sleeplessnes Use: Baths, Massage, Room Spray, Inhalation and more!
LEMON-Fresh and clean smelling with its citrus smell. Use for Purifying. Use: Diffuser, household products, Room Spray.
LEMONGRASS-Refreshing, stimulating, relieves muscle strains, headaches.Use: Diffuser, Room Spray, Massage
LIME-Astringent, Anxiety, depression, facial lotions.Use: household cleaning, diffuser, some facial products.

MARJORAM, SWEET-Stiffness, insomnia, spasms, inflammation.Use: Inhalant, Baths, Massage.
MYRTLE, RED-Lighter Scent, but see “Eucalyptus” oils for use.
NIAOULI-Antiseptic with many similarities and use of “TeaTree”, but with a lighter scent.
NUTMEG-Soft, gentle scent helps with fear and anxiety. Comforting and soothing. Use: Diffuser, or inhale for bottle.
ORANGE, BLOOD-Clears the mind, skin care when used sparingly.Use: See “Citrus Oils” for use.
PALMAROSA-See “Geranium” for similarities and use.
PATCHOULI-For skin allergies, fungus, sores, anxiety, cell rejuvenation.Use: Sparingly. Baths, Body, Inhale.
PEPPERMINT-Relieves headaches, fatigue, digestive respiratory, bad breath, nervousness.Use: Can cause skin irritation so use 1 or 2 drops in tea or in diffuser or inhalant.
PINE-To feel energized, wake up. Cold and sinuses.Use: Diffuser, small amount in bath.
ROSEMARY-Used extensively in skin and hair care. Stiff muscles and to energize.Use: Baths, Skin, hair products. Body.
ROSEWOOD-Candida, dry skin, eczema, stress.Use: Diffuser, Baths.
SAGE-Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral. Respiratory. Use: Often used in hair and skin products. Use with caution and specific amount.
SANDALWOOD-Lifts mood, relaxes body, and mind. Calm coughs and when inhaled is excellent for Bronchitis and sore throats.Use: Sparingly in all forms of guideline lists.
TEA TREE-Can be used “neat” (straight) for any abrasions, cuts, infections etc. Stated as “one of the safest, most powerful oils one can use.Use: All Forms
THYME, LINALOOL-Strong antiseptic and antibiotic. Also for sore, aching muscles.Use: Massage or bath
THYME, RED-see “Marjoram”.
WINTERGREEN-Recommended for use in specific formula or by experience Aromatherapist.
YLANG YLANG COMPLETE-Extremely relaxing, erotic. It is said to be helpful in lowering Blood pressure.Use: Body and Skin Products.
